Can we apply for duplicate migration if the original one is lost ?

No, you cannot apply it again. It can only be issued once.

Why should we apply for migration?

  • To leave tribhuwan university and join at other universities in Nepal.

  • for applying/enrolling at foreign universities

Can we join again at TU even after collecting migration ?

Yes, you can rejoin TU even after taking a migration certificate.

You'll need to submit the following at TU, Room No. 9:

  • Your original migration certificate

  • A letter addressed to the Controller of Examinations, specifying your reason for submitting the migration certificate back to TU

  • Rs. 1000 payment voucher (from Nepal Bank or Global IME Bank)

Do we need to bring the original payment voucher while collecting our migration certificate?

Yes, you must bring the original payment voucher. If you don't, you'll be charged a fine of Rs. 100. To make the payment, you should visit the Global Ime bank/ Nepal bank within TU premises, pay Rs. 100, and bring the payment voucher with you.

Should the applicant apply for the migration certificate him/herself ?

No, another person— such as a friend, father, mother, or sister — can apply on the applicant's behalf. However, the receiver's name and phone number must be clearly specified, since the migration certificate is a sensitive document.

Note: The certificate can only be collected by the person named as the receiver — no one else will be allowed to collect it on their behalf.

My migration certificate is lost. What should I do?

A migration certificate is issued only once and cannot be reissued. However, you can apply for a TU Intimation Letter instead, which allows you to enroll in other universities (except TU).

What steps should be followed to apply for a TU Intimation Letter ?

  • Photocopies of all documents from SLC/SEE up to Bachelor's level

  • Original police report + newspaper (notice)

  • Rs. 1000 payment voucher

  • Compile all the above into a record file and submit it at Room No. 9

  • After 15 days to 1 month, you will receive a call from TU Controller of Examinations ( OCoE )

  • Your TU Intimation Letter will then be ready
